Board your aircraft at 0800 to begin your journey of discovering the Australian Outback over the next three days. Our first flight takes you to the heart of the Flinders Ranges where you land at Rawnsley Park Station after a 60 minute flight. There is a short transfer to your accommodation where your luxury Eco Villa is tucked away in a secluded spot with breathtaking views. The villas feature many sustainable design features such as rendered straw-bale walls, polished timber floors over suspended concrete slabs, raked ceilings with natural exhaust venting at the apex, and overhanging eaves to shade walls. The best part … a retractable ceiling offering night-sky viewing from the comfort of your bed!

Shortly after arriving you will be whisked away for a full day tour taking in Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges including stopping for lunch at the famous Prairie Hotel at Parachilna where you will have the opportunity to enjoy a Feral Mixed Grill and a Fargher Lager! Today concludes with a stunning Flinders Ranges sunset with champagne and canapés before a beautiful evening meal in the Woolshed at Rawnsley Park. Retire to your villa and fall asleep under the outback sky …

After an early breakfast, you will discover the working side of Rawnsley Park with a Station Tour to learn about life on a commercial sheep station. Rawnsley Park runs approximately 2,000 Dohne sheep. Visit the shearing shed to see how the wool is sorted and baled, before visiting the water points. Arrive at your aircraft for a 60 minute flight departing over the magnificent Wilpena Pound and outer Flinders Ranges on the way to the tiny outback town of Innamincka. There will be time for lunch in the Outamincka Bar before a town tour and visit to Burkes Grave, a significant story in Australia’s history.

Back on board your aircraft, you will fly over remote land towards the Kidman station of Durrie. On arrival at Durrie the aircraft will fly a low level segment into Birdsville along the Diamantina River where you may be lucky enough to spot wild brumby’s and significant birdlife on the way in to land. Once arriving at Birdsville, you will be able to walk across the road to the iconic Birdsville Hotel! A quick check in, perhaps a cheeky beer in the front bar and then we will be on the way to Big Red, a large red sand dune situated on the edge of the Simpson Desert. Here you will have sunset drinks before heading back to the hotel for a three course, hearty outback meal.

Day three begins with a cooked bush breakfast before our early departure towards Lake Eyre to capture the most magnificent morning light. We follow the river systems at low level from Birdsville, over Goyder Lagoon and remote stations to discover the vivid colours and wildlife of the outback. We fly over Lake Eyre to land at William Creek. Here you will have time to explore this quirky township, which has a population of only six!

You will have the option to board a small, single engine aircraft to fly out towards Lake Eyre to explore everything this inland gem has to offer at low level and with excellent commentary (additional cost at time of booking). Lunch will be at the William Creek hotel before departing for a 100 minute flight back to Adelaide Airport. You will be amazed at the distances covered, people you have met and the land you have experienced in such a short period of time … you did wake up in Birdsville this morning!
